Netflix Star José de la Torre Dead at 37 After Battle With Serious Illness

José de la Torre, the Spanish actor best known for his role as Iván in Netflix’s Toy Boy, has tragically passed away at the age of 37. He died on Thursday, December 5, following a battle with a serious, undisclosed illness that he revealed in June. His funeral was held the following day in his hometown of Montilla, Spain, at the Parish of San Francisco Solano.

De la Torre stepped back from the spotlight earlier this year to focus on treatment, maintaining an optimistic outlook on social media. However, his condition worsened in recent months, and the cause of his death has not been disclosed. His final Instagram post, shared on June 3, showed him celebrating life with friends at a festival in the Canary Islands.

Tributes have poured in from fans and colleagues alike. Spanish singer Pablo Alborán expressed heartbreak over the loss, writing, “I can’t believe you left so soon.” Actress Luisa Martín and singer Lolita Flores also shared heartfelt condolences, with Flores speaking at his memorial.
